Separated
from the Italian peninsula by the strait of Messina (3 km),
Sicily is the biggest island in Italy and thanks to its natural
beauty, it's famous in the world.
During
it's history it was a maritime crossroad and a land of conquest.

example the Arabs looked to the island for their expansions in Europe,
Greeks and Phoenicians built monuments of their civilisation.

Today
Sicily is the second region in Italy for population density
and Palermo is the regional capital of Sicily.
Like in
a picture in Sicily you can admire big yellow wheat field,
beautiful gardens, citrus, the blue sea, red dawns and sunset
During
the summer Sicily is the favourite destination of people
that love sun at his zenith. In fact it's at the same latitude of
Tunisian coast and it offers attractive coasts and fascinating landscapes.
All around the island there are many smaller islands like the Eolie,
the Ustica, the island of Pantelleria and the volcanoes of Stromboli
and Vulcano.
Etna volcano,
that it's still working, it's the biggest volcano in Europe and
it's one of the attractions of the area.
The climate
is Mediterranean with hot summers, warm springs and could
autumns and winter.
