Welcome
Christine Thery was born and raised in Hong Kong, where she returned to live on the outer islands, after completing a Degree at Winchester College of Art in the UK. She travelled in South East Asia, working as an artist, a photographer and a photo-journalist, before returning to the UK where she began working as an etcher.
She spent 4 years living aboard a boat with her husband and an etching press, before settling in Maine for 2 years. After this they set up home on Heir Island, West Cork. Here she works on etchings and larger pieces of local island and rural life, as well as Hong Kong subjects from a wealth of sketches and other material collected there.
